The 72-year-old Princess Royal was present at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Edinburgh, Scotland. The official royal residence in Scotland will house her mother’s remains until a procession brings the late monarch to St Giles Cathedral for a service on Monday, September 12.

Officials dressed in kilts carried Anne’s casket, which was adorned with the royal standard from Scotland and topped off with flowers, into the castle. Anne curtsied as Anne watched the coffin pass by.
The formal greeting, which is customary for royals to greet the sovereign on a given day, serves as a sign of respect, reverence, and reverence. Sophie, 57, was also present and gave the coffin a small curtsy.
Anne has been traveling with her mother’s remains and will continue to do so until her Monday, September 19, funeral.

The regent’s coffin and the Princess Royal made the six-hour trip south from Balmoral to Holyrood. On Monday, September 12, the remains will move to St Giles Cathedral for a funeral service.
Princess Anne will accompany the coffin on Tuesday, Sept 13. It will travel from Edinburgh to London. The coffin will be at Buckingham Palace until Tuesday, September 13. On Wednesday, September 14, there will be a procession to Westminster Hall. Princess Anne will then lie in state for several more days until September 19.
The main part will be held at Westminster Abbey. But the queen and Prince Philip will be buried together. Their tomb is at the King George VI Memorial Chapel (which was named for the queen’s father) at Windsor Castle, which is where the final committal ceremony will be held.
