Jordan, Scalise Vie for House Speaker’s Gavel

Rep. Kevin Hern of Oklahoma took himself out of the working for speaker of the Home over the weekend, leaving fellow Republican Reps. Jim Jordan of Ohio and Steve Scalise of Louisiana to battle it out for the speaker’s gavel.  

“I’m going to step apart and allow them to give their greatest case why they need to be speaker of the Home, and we have to get collectively in a short time in order that we are able to get our Congress again open for enterprise, so we are able to transfer this nice nation ahead,” Hern stated in an interview Saturday.

Fox News reported that the complete Home is predicted to vote on the matter Thursday on the earliest. 

Jordan at the moment serves as chairman of the Home Judiciary Committee and of its Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Authorities. He’s additionally a member of the Home Committee on Oversight and Accountability.
