On Thursday, August 16th, hit music artist Jeffery Lamar Williams — best-known by his stage name “Young Thug” — was arrested for a felony weapon charge in Los Angeles, California. Williams, 27, has won and been nominated for several musical awards since his rise to mainstream fame in 2014.

According to TMZ, Williams was celebrating his "Slime Language” album release and 27th birthday party at Dave & Buster's Hollywood before he was arrested. As he and his friends were leaving the celebration, they reportedly ran into a police car.

The run-in prompted a vehicle search where police discovered a number of weapons. He was taken into custody around 3:00 AM and booked for carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, which is a felony.

Video footage surfaced of the rapper being escorted out of his own birthday party in handcuffs. Watch the video clip below:

As of 10:00 AM ET on Friday, the musician was being held on a $35,000 bond. This story is developing and will be updated as more information becomes available.

This is not his first run-in with the law. Previously, Williams has faced several lawsuits related to his music career. He was also arrested for other weapon, drug, and battery charges in the past.
