3 Dead, More Injured After Gunman Stormed Yoga Studio in Florida, Prayers Needed

Over the last few years, more and more shootings have taken place around the nation. Now, disturbing reports have emerged of another shooting that left two dead and at least five injured.

The most recent shooting took place in Tallahassee, Florida at a yoga studio. According to TIME, a gunman shot two people to death and then killed himself.

The two victims were a student and faculty member at Florida State University. Five others were injured in the attack.

The Tallahassee Police Chief, Michael DeLeo, said that the studio is a part of the Tallahassee shopping center. He said that the gunman shot six people and pistol-whipped the seventh.

The shooter was identified on Saturday morning as 40-year-old Scott Paul Beierle. The two victims were 61-year-old Dr. Nancy Van Vessem and 21-year-old Maura Binkley.

Florida State University President John Thrasher said, “To lose one of our students and one of our faculty members in this tragic and violent way is just devastating to the Florida State University family. We feel this loss profoundly and we send our deepest sympathies to Maura’s and Nancy’s loved ones while we pray for the recovery of those who were injured.”
