Dozens of Kids On Way to Summer Camps Killed in School Bus After Being Hit by Airstrike

Horrible news was reported on Thursday morning that dozens of children have been killed in a school bus. The tragedy took place in northern Yemen when the bus was hit by an airstrike. The news of the tragedy is now sending a wave of grief across the world.

According to CNN, dozens were killed and injured, most of which who were under the age of ten. The International Committee for the Red Cross said that the bus was hit by an airstrike as they were driving through a market in Saada.

Johannes Bruwer, the head of the ICRC in Yemen wrote, “Scores killed, even more injured, most under the age of ten. @ICRC_ye sending additional supplies to hospitals to cope with the influx.”

The area that the bus was driving through is reportedly a rebel-held province. Reportedly, a Saudi-led Coalition has been attempting a  military campaign to remove the rebels from the area.

Witnesses revealed that the horrific attack could be heard even in neighboring districts. The head of the Houthi health office in Saada confirmed to CNN that the young children were headed to summer camps when the accident took place.

Reports are claiming different numbers of young children that were killed in this attack. Some sources claim at least 20 deaths, while others give a range up to 43. At this point, the exact number is unclear.

As soon as this tragic news was revealed, many people took to social media to talk about the continual tragedies that take place in the country and the potential action plans that could benefit the safety of the civilians.
