Over the last few days, the Internet has waged war over Toblerone, a Swiss chocolate bar brand and one of the most famous candy companies in the world.

The controversy is over Toblerone's decision to officially become Halal certified. Halal, an Arabic word, means that food is permissible according to Islamic law. It indicates that the food in question does not contain or was in contact with pork or alcohol. Additionally, it means that the animals involved were slaughtered in a specific way.

While the Toblerone recipe was not altered, the company decided to become Halal certified last April so that Muslims would know that it was appropriate for them to eat. Now, several people have decided to boycott the company, saying that it proves the "Islamization" of Europe.

Several angry consumers took to social media to talk about Toblerone's decision. Below are some of the examples:

Others reacted to the calls to boycott the company, saying that no one should be bothered by Toblerone being Halal, especially because chocolate shouldn't be in direct contact with alcohol or pork anyway!

What do you think about the argument going on about Toblerone? Do you think that people should be boycotting, or do you think people are making too big of a deal of this? Let us know! In other recent news, a type of Ibuprofen was just recalled. Throw it out if you have young kids!
