World Series Ended With an Epic Proposal: Watch the Adorable Video Here

Wednesday, November 1 will be a night to remember for Houston, Texas. The Houston Astros won their first ever World Series as a franchise, as they beat out the LA Dodgers in Game 7.

Only four years after losing a club record 111 games, the Astros turned their success around. They beat out the Dodgers 5-1, making the game one of the most one-sided in the history of the World Series.

Not only will November 1 be a night to remember for fans, the team, and coaches, but it was a particularly important night for Astros player Carlos Correa.

Immediately after the game, the shortstop was celebrating with an interview on the field when he revealed a surprise. He said he was about to “take another big step” in his life. Just then, he proposed to his girlfriend, 2016 Miss Texas USA Daniella Rodriguez.

Correa turned to Rodriguez, got down on one knee, and said, “Daniella Rodriguez, will you make me the happiest man in the world? Will you marry me?”

Daniella said “yes,” and they kissed and put on her ring.

Correa told reporters, “I was planning if we were World Series champions, I was going to do it right there. I don’t think that’s a stage you can create, it just has to happen. And we were able to win tonight, so perfect timing for me to get engaged.”

“I’ve been thinking about it for months now, but I was waiting for the perfect opportunity, you know,” he continued. “I knew we had a great team, we could accomplish this, and I wasn’t wrong.”

The athlete said that he had asked for help from one of the clubhouse attendants as the game was nearing its end.

He said, “One of the cubbies, I talked to him in the ninth inning and I’m like, ‘I don’t want to jinx anything, but if we get the three outs, please bring me the ring because I am going to get engaged in the ballpark.’”

Below is the video of the proposal:
