Therra Jaramillo suddenly found herself in dire financial need after she lost her husband to brain cancer and her mother to Hurricane Katrina. She said she felt like her “candle was out.”
A friend of hers gave her a $250 gift card to Whole Foods so she could do some grocery shopping. But when she entered the checkout line, she came to a problem.
Her grocery tab was far higher than the gift card, and she had no money to pay for it. According to Pop Sugar, that’s when a kind stranger ahead of her stepped in.
The gentleman offered to pay for her grocery bill. The man offered to buy her dog food and then decided to pay the full $375 to cover the cost.
Therra was speechless. She thanked the man, who said his name was just “Chris.”
“You’re sweet,” the man said to Therra, “You’re nice to rescue dogs.”
The man made sure that Therra had help to her car, then left. Then Therra turned to the checkout lady to ask if she knew who that was.
“You know that’s Ludacris, right?” she said.
She encouraged readers to pay these positive actions forward, because, “you never know a stranger’s full story.”
