A tragic story is making headlines today that seems like something from a Shakespearean drama. A woman has reportedly killed herself and her two children after hearing about the death of her husband.
However, what she didn't know is that her husband was not actually dead. He had faked his own death. Now, it is all unraveling.
"The 34-year-old man in China, who was identified by the surname He, was presumed dead after his vehicle was discovered in a river on Sept. 19, the BBC reported. The man’s body was not recovered," reported Fox News.
However, he probably didn't expect this wife's reaction. Now, police believe she never knew of her husbands plan to scam an insurance company for his life insurance funds.
"So the 31-year-old woman, who believed she was a widow, grabbed her two children, ages 3 and 4, and jumped into a pond after posting a suicide note online. The message said she was “coming to accompany” her husband in the afterlife, the BBC reported. The three bodies were found in a pond near their residence on Oct. 11," reported Fox News.
The man turned himself over to local police shortly after the news broke. He is being "detained on charges of insurance fraud and intentional damage to property.”
The man also did something strange before returning himself over to the cops. He posted an online video in which he was seen crying, and explaining that he only borrowed the money for medical treatment for his ill daughter.
