In Los Angeles, a woman has been arrested after allegedly brutally beating a 92-year-old man with a brick.
According to ABC7, Laquisha Jones of Los Angeles was arrested Tuesday night. The beating occurred July 4 when the man, identified as Rodolfo Rodriguez, was walking down the sidewalk when he passed a woman.
An eyewitness said that Jones became disturbed. For some reason, she suddenly attacked him.
“The woman pushed him and dropped him,” the eyewitness said. “She took the block of concrete and hit him in his head many times.”
The woman wasn’t alone in the assault. Several men accompanied her, beating Rodriguez. They used not only bricks, but also slabs of concrete.
The eyewitness took a picture of the woman, who was walking with a little girl. The picture shows the woman holding a slab of concrete.
Jones was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Bail has been posted at $200K.
The video details the aftermath of the bloody beating, showing a battered and bruised Rodriguez. Since the assault, he has now been released from the hospital and is at home recovering.
A GoFundMe account has been set up to help Rodriguez. The original goal of $15,000 has been surpassed. As of Thursday morning, more than $300,000 had been raised.
