On Saturday, May 19, the world cheered with joy as Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle got married! The royal wedding was one of the most highly anticipated events in recent years and people around the world wanted to know every detail.
After the royal wedding took place, one question remained: where would the Duke and Duchess of Sussex go for their Honeymoon?
Because they had such a public wedding ceremony, the couple’s main priority for their honeymoon was privacy. Now, according to E! News, they achieved just that!
A source had previously shared, “Going somewhere they can bring minimal security to and not worry about people seeing them has been of the utmost importance.”
It had been previously reported that the royal couple would wait for their honeymoon until their first official engagement as a married couple took place. The week after the wedding, they were reportedly part of several events, including Prince Charles’ 70th birthday celebrations.
After the wedding, even though fans knew it would be delayed for at least a week, rumors began to fly about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s honeymoon destination.
Suspicions ranged from Canada to the United States to Ireland. One of the most prominent rumors was that the couple would go to Namibia for their honeymoon. Various news sources even reported the exact resorts that they thought Prince Harry and Meghan would go to in the different countries. However, none of those countries ended up being their destination of choice.
According to E! News, the couple opted to visit East Africa and went to at least two countries. The couple was able to relax in the sun and enjoy safaris. Luckily, they had privacy the entire time!
A source said, “It was the perfect break and blend of their passions. Restorative and the perfect holiday before starting a very busy second half of 2018.”
Shortly after the return from their honeymoon, Meghan Markle was officially added to the Royal Foundation! Now, she’s heading out with Queen Elizabeth for a royal tour.
Congrats to the happy couple on their new marriage! What do you think about their honeymoon destination choice? Let us know! In breaking news, the last remaining member of a legendary rock band just passed away. Please pray for his family.
