Meghan Markle might be the Duchess of Sussex, but Hollywood isn't quite ready to let her go.

Fox News confirmed with a rep for the USA Network, which airs her television show "Suits," that Markle is being considered for nomination for an Emmy. Meghan became Duchess of Sussex when she married Prince Harry on May 19, but before that she was Rachel Zane on the hit show.

36-year-old Meghan was submitted to the category “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.” Meghan hasn't won any major awards for her role as Rachel Zane.

If does receive an official nomination, this would be her last chance to receive an Emmy. She announced last November that she would not be acting after her wedding to Prince Harry.

As Harper's Bazaar pointed out, this is a historic moment. Whether or not she wins the Emmy, this still makes the Duchess of Sussex the first royal to be considered for an Emmy.

At the time of her engagement, Markle told the BBC she would be “transitioning” out of her acting career. She, along with her onscreen husband Patrick J. Adams, will not be returning for the 8th season of "Suits."

Experts had told Fox News that Markle will likely follow in the footsteps of Oscar award-winning actress Grace Kelly. Kelly gave up her extremely successful career to become the Princess of Monaco when she married Prince Rainier in 1956.

Grant Harrold, an etiquette expert who served as a butler to members of the royal family, told Fox News Markle likely won't have any free time for acting. Even if she wanted to continue her career, she will be busy with royal engagements and overseas tours.

William Hanson, a British etiquette consultant, previously told Fox News that Meghan could potentially go back to Hollywood if she wishes. However, she would have to be more picky about her roles.

"If she ever goes back they would probably be conservative roles, not like her last role in 'Suits,'" he explained. "She will probably focus more on her charitable interests, humanitarian interests. [But] her role is… the Duchess of Sussex."
