Will Smith Makes 1st Public Appearance After Oscars Slap: Photo

It was almost a month later Will Smith made headlines for slapping Chris RockThe 94th Annual Academy Awards will be held on King Richard star made his first public outing.

Smith, 53, was captured taking selfies with his fans on Saturday, April 23, during a trip in Mumbai, India.

The Bel-Air’s Fresh Prince alum’s Saturday outing marked the first time he was photographed since the Oscars last month. The comedian, 57, joked that he was laughing during the ceremony. Jada Pinkett Smith — who wed the Ali star in 1997 — could star in a potential G.I. Jane Her shaved head is the reason she was able to create a sequel. (The Maryland native, now 50, has opened up about her struggles with alopecia, hair loss, and other issues. Pinkett Smith subtly rolled eyes at the joke while Smith walked up to the stage and smacked Rock across his face.

The Grown Ups actor declined to press charges against Smith — who won the coveted Leading Actor trophy on March 27 — before the Philadelphia native issued a public apology for his actions.

“Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive,” Smith wrote in a social media statement on March 28. “My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. … I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was wrong and I was out of line. I am embarrassed by my actions, which are not indicative the man I want. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.”

Smith resigned as an Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences member amid the Oscars controversy. He was banned from attending any future events for 10 year by the organization.

“I accept and respect the Academy’s decision,” Smith told Page Six In a statement made earlier in the month.

Smith and the Red Table Talk While her cohosts have kept mum about the encounter, she stepped on the red carpet on April 10th to celebrate the grand opening. Debbie Allen’s new dance facility.

The Matrix Resurrections actress — who shares daughter Willow SmithSon Jaden Smith with her spouse — later teased a forthcoming episode of her Facebook Watch talk show will cover the incident and its aftermath.

Some of the discoveries around our healing will be shared at the table when the time calls,” a Wednesday, April 20, statement about the show’s 5th season read. “Until then… the table will continue offering itself to powerful, inspiring and healing testimonies like that of our incredibly impressive first guest.
