On Monday, October 1, the news was revealed that Sister Barbara Bowen Ballard, the wife of President M. Russell Ballard, has passed away. Ballard is the acting president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
According to reports, Sister Barbara Bowen Ballard passed away at her home in Salt Lake City on Monday. She was 86 years old and was surrounded by her family members at the time of her death.
In recent years, Sister Ballard had experienced several different health issues. Most recently, she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
Sister Ballard and President Ballard got married on August 28, 1951 at the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had two sons and five daughters.
