Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is known by many for his football skills, but he’s also famous for his romantic life. Mahomes and his fiancée Brittany Matthews are high school sweethearts, but what else do we know about her?
High School Sweethearts And Beyond
Matthews and Mahomes began dating as teenagers at Whitehouse High School, Texas. Fans who are willing and able to dig back into Instagram archives will find prom photos of the two from 2013.
They remained together through high school and college. Matthews went to Texas Tech while Mahomes went to Texas Tech. Mahomes isn’t the only athlete in the relationship, either. Matthews played soccer as a student.
Like Mahomes, Matthews’ career involves physical activity, too. She has a B.S. She holds a B.S. in Kinesiology, and is a certified personal coach. She shares tips for people who want to get active on Instagram.
Mahomes proposed to Matthews, even though they have been together for many years. Matthews was presented with a ring by the quarterback on the same day that the Chiefs received their 2020 Super Bowl rings. The couple also got engaged at Arrowhead Stadium.

I will never forget the words you spoke to me as you looked into mine. This day was perfect because of you. You took my breath away and made it so special. You are my forever and ever! The Mahomes Matthews Family
They are also parents. Matthews and Mahomes were engaged for less than a year before they announced that they were expecting their second child together. “Mom & Dad, taking a small detour to the wedding,” Mahomes wrote in an Instagram caption.
Sterling Skye Mahomes, their daughter, was born February 20, 2002. Matthews and Mahomes post many pictures of their daughter, giving friends and family an inside view as she grows up.
They are also the parents to Silver and Steel, pitbulls and Cane Corso dogs. The dogs have their own Instagram account where you can see them sporting Kansas City Chiefs merchandise.
Mahomes and Matthews have plans for a 2022 wedding, but there’s been no official announcement of the date. Matthews hosted her bridal shower in December and posted photos of herself with a heart pillow. with the caption, “Let the countdown begin.”
