In a recent interview, Ivana Trump said some comments that are making major headlines. She went on “Good Morning America” and jokingly called herself the First Lady.
“Ivana had jokingly called herself the ‘first lady’ in an interview with ‘Good Morning America’ on Monday,” reported The Hill.
"I have the direct number to White House, but I no really want to call him there because Melania is there,” Ivana said. "I don't want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that because I'm basically first Trump wife. I’m first lady, OK?" she added, laughing.
Now, the spokeswoman for Melania Trump, the actual First Lady, has responded. It is clear they did not find anything funny with Ivana’s comments.
"Mrs. Trump has made the White House a home for Barron and The President," the first lady's spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said in a statement. "She loves living in Washington, DC and is honored by her role as First Lady of the United States. She plans to use her title and role to help children, not sell books. There is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex. Unfortunately only attention seeking and self-serving noise.”
Ivana is currently out promoting her new book that is titled “Raising Trump” and is about her children with President Trump. Ivana was President Trump’s first wife. She and Trump married in 1977 and divorced in 1982, and had three children together — Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric, according to The Hill.
Melania has been heavily involved in her causes since assuming her leadership role in Washington. She has been married to President Trump since 2005.
