Obama stood in front of the TV cameras on Tuesday and shed tears while informing the country of the executive actions that he took towards furthering gun control throughout the country.
A family in Springfield, Missouri was saved from shedding tears this past weekend by exercising their 2nd amendment rights. According to the Springfield News Leader, Katie Claxton and her family were filling up at a gas station when a strange man approached her car. Inside the car were her four children, all under 8 years old.
The man opened the car door and pulled out a large knife. Claxton called for her husband. The man backed away as Claxton’s husband pulled out his gun and pointed it at the man. “Our second amendment right to carry is what saved our lives,” Claxton said. “If we didn’t have our right to carry, I feel like we wouldn’t be here today.”
Claxton called the police and the man was apprehended. It is just another example of how the 2nd amendment saves lives.
