On Valentine's Day, country music star Miranda Lambert announced to her fans that she'd secretly gotten married. She called her new husband "the one" in a post that included two sweet wedding photos.
She married NYPD officer Brendan Mcloughlin. According to PEOPLE, the couple met in New York City in November while the singer was there playing a show.
“In honor of Valentine’s Day I wanted to share some news. I met the love of my life. And we got hitched! My heart is full. Thank you Brendan Mcloughlin for loving me for.... Me,” Lambert said in a post on social media.
According to PEOPLE, Mcloughlin is also a new father to a 3-month-old child from a previous relationship, which makes Lambert a new step-mother.
After the news of their nuptials broke, Fox News went looking for more information about Mcloughlin. The 27-year-old officer, who is eight years younger than his famous wife, is a successful police officer.
The NYPD Midtown South precinct congratulated him and a colleague on a job well done in March 2018, writing, "This week these fine officers showed what we do best in #Midtown. PO McLoughlin apprehended perpetrator in a bank robbery in progress & PO Donato had a pick up arrest of a truck burglary closing out several open complaints."
He also appears to be a dog person like Lambert. There's a snap of him with adorable NYPD K-9s at an event.
He's also athletic. In August 2015, he came in first place in the NYPD Keith Ferguson Memorial 5K Brooklyn Bridge Run.
This is the country musician’s second marriage. She was first married to award-winning country singer Blake Shelton for four years, but they officially split in 2015.
