The Harris Poll’s EquiTrend Study just released its rankings on America’s favorite burger chains.

Yes, such a study exists.

According to CBS Los Angeles, Five Guys Burgers and Fries has just toppled In-N-Out Burger for the top spot, which In-N-Out has held for the past two years.

The rankings are based on American’s opinion of the quality of the burger chains, the likelihood of purchasing food from them, and their overall familiarity with their offerings. In other words, small burger chains get excluded.

Business Insider said of Five Guys burgers, "It's a simple burger that's filling and delicious in a guilty sort of way. As the better-burger industry evolves, there's something to be said for restaurants that serve an honest, humble burger in a no-frills environment. It's the classic American burger enterprise."

In-N-Out, too, emphasizes simplicity over crowded, ever-changing menus and lounge-like restaurant atmospheres.

Who else made the top 10 list? Here you go:

1. Five Guys Burgers and Fries
2. In-N-Out Burger
3. Shake Shack
4. Wendy’s
5. Culver’s
6. Whataburger
7. McDonald’s
8. SONIC America’s Drive-In
9. Smashburger
10. Steak ‘n Shake
