On Tuesday, President Trump delivered his first speech on the world stage. He discussed foreign policy, the rising tension with North Korea, human rights, terrorism, and more.

After the speech, President Trump released a statement about the opportunity to speak to the United Nations.

He said, “It was a great honor to have spoken before the countries of the world at the United Nations. The potential of this talented group of leaders, brought together by the United Nations, is unlimited.”

Since his speech, President Trump has been receiving strong reactions. While some are saying that the message was too forceful, most of the response has been positive, with political leaders praising Trump for his boldness.

The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, gave extreme praise to President Trump after his speech. He said that “Trump spoke the truth about the great dangers facing our world…and issued a powerful call to confront them in order to ensure the future of humanity.”

U.S. Congressman Jeff Fortenberry called Trump’s speech “clear, strong, principled.” Rep. Todd Rokita complimented the president’s words as well. He said that he has “shown our world tremendous leadership since taking office.”

John Bolton, American lawyer and diplomat who has served as the U.S. ambassador to the U.N., gave high praise as well.

Former Speaker Newt Gingrich said that the speech is “historic and sets a new standard.”

Others, including mainstream media, have been criticizing the president for being too harsh in the speech. They said that he went against presidential norms and is stirring the fire where it is unnecessary.
