On Saturday, January 12th, news broke that Wendy Nelson Maxfield sadly passed away following her battle with cancer. Wendy is the daughter of Russell M. Nelson, the President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The LDS Church released a statement Saturday evening:
“With sadness, we share the news of the passing of Wendy Nelson Maxfield, a daughter of President Russell M. Nelson and Dantzel White Nelson. Wendy died peacefully at her home Friday afternoon, January 11, 2019 at age 67 after her courageous battle with cancer.
“Sister Maxfield is married to Norman Maxfield, and they are the parents of seven children and 20 grandchildren. We express our love to the entire Nelson and Maxfield family as they remember her life and mourn her passing.”
Shortly after the news of her death broke to the public, photos were shared in remembrance of her. See the pictures below:
Several people, including Rep. Ben McAdams of Utah, took to social media to express their warm thoughts and prayers for the mourning family.
Please keep the family in your prayers during this difficult time. In other breaking news, an athlete who famously followed in his father’s footsteps also passed away recently.
