Amidst heated presidential campaigns that are consuming the nation's attention, Rev. Franklin Graham is on a campaign as well. This afternoon he continued that effort in front of a large crowd on the steps of the Idaho Capitol in downtown Boise.
The politically active evangelist and president of Samaritan's Purse and the Bill Graham Evangelistic Association has been touring all 50 states as part of Decision America Tour 2016 to share a biblical message, encourage Christians to vote, and lead crowds in prayer.
Today in Boise, he spoke to an enthusiastic crowd of 3,800, rousing them with a hard-hitting rallying cry for praying for our leaders and getting more deeply involved in politics as Christians. After the event, Faith Family America had a chance to speak with Graham.
Speaking to other members of the media, Graham talked about the persecution of Christian business owners who don't want to support gay marriages.
So we asked: "Mr. Graham, what do you think will happen to a nation that celebrates homosexuality? What will eventually happen to it?"
He replied, "Well, it's a sin against God. I'm not saying it's a greater sin than other sins. But any time you celebrate sin, you're in danger of God's judgement. And that's what we ought to be aware of. I'm no better than any other person, but I've asked God to forgive me, and I've turned from my sins. God will forgive homosexuality, he'll forgive sin, but we've got to turn from it and be willing to accept by faith Jesus Christ. And that's what's important."
What do you think of his answer?
