Since Meghan Markle is marrying Prince Harry on May 19th, it makes sense that she had to join him in Madame Tussauds. Or at least a wax figure of her had to.
On May 9th, the waxwork museum unveiled their very own Meghan for their London branch. Meghan is placed alongside fiancé Prince Harry. They stand in front of a wedding-inspired background.
Oftentimes, these wax figures can come out very creepy, but Meghan manages to look close to her real self. Markle’s waxwork has her signature long, loose waves, a replica of her engagement ring, and she wears a chic hunter green sheath dress.
It's possible hers looks more like her than Melania Trumps, which was unveiled last month. Some criticized that wax statue for looking more like Sarah Sarah Jessica Parker than the FLOTUS. All of the reactions on Twitter were positive as of Wednesday morning.
The general manager of Madame Tussauds London shared why they decided to make a wax figure of Meghan Markle. The explanation came in a statement from March where they announced the plans for the figure.
“It’s clear that the public has already taken Meghan to their hearts. One half of arguably the most famous couple in the world right now, she’s already made her own mark as a humanitarian and role model. We’re excited to give guests the chance to ‘meet’ her … later this year.”
The wax figure will be open to the public on May 18. New York’s Madame Tussauds is also expected to introduce its own Markle waxwork. It will have a different pose and be dressed in a different ensemble.
