The national anthem controversy in the NFL has swept the nation. A lot of patriotic Americans feel that kneeling during the national anthem is simply wrong and disrespectful.
Recently, some patriotic shirts have been selling rapidly across the country. During a recent NBC News segment in New York, a reporter and Congressman came across an elderly woman sporting the shirt.
"The humorous interaction occurred as reporter Jacob Soboroff and Rep. Dan Donovan (R-N.Y.) were speaking with people at a grocery store in Staten Island, the only Republican-leaning New York City borough. The two approached an elderly woman, identified only as Jenny. As Donovan shook her hand, Soboroff asked her what her shirt said," according to Fox News.
The woman had an awesome response. Without skipping a beat she stood up for America and for her beliefs!
“What does it say there?" Soboroff asked "'Stand for the flag, kneel for cross?'”
“Absolutely,” she said. “And if you don’t like it, go to Venezuela.”
The news clip quickly went viral. Many people found it comical that a senior citizen would give such a fiery answer. Also, a lot of people agreed with her patriotic response and feel the exact same way. In other recent news, a story is developing about Isis taking 700 people hostage including Europeans and Americans.
