On Monday night, Alabama football player Bradley Bozeman followed up the Crimson Tide's thrilling win by dropping to one knee. Shortly after the victory, Bozeman approached his college sweetheart and asked her to be his wife.

The touching moment was caught on film. It showed Bozeman's girlfriend, former Alabama basketball player Nikki Hegstetter, with her face full of surprise and joy.

Hegstetter covered her mouth, visibly teared up, and then nodded before Bozeman placed the ring on her finger.

"I'm still in shock," Heggstetter told Yahoo. "Really just so excited he's getting a ring. I didn't know I was going to get one."

After Bozeman put the ring on Hegstetter's finger, the couple embraced on the Mercedes-Benz Stadium field in Atlanta. Onlookers smiled, applauded and took pictures.

“I had something planned to say, it, but it completely left my mind, and I just winged it,” Bozeman shared with ESPN. “I said you’ve been there from the beginning, you’ve been with me, you’ve made me a better person.”

21-year-old Bozeman later told that he had Hegstetter had discussed getting married, but she had no idea the proposal was coming. In fact, it was a proposal that almost never happened; Bozeman planned only to propose Monday night if the Crimson Tide won.

Fortunately for Bozeman and Hegstetter, Alabama surged back from a 13-point deficit at halftime. In overtime, they pulled out a shocking victory against the Georgia Bulldogs.

Hours before the college football championship, Hegstetter shared a photo and touching post on Instagram of her and Bozeman at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

“I sit here thinking about everything that you have been through the last five years to get to the point. You get to end your career at The University of Alabama on the biggest stage possible,” wrote Hegstetter. “You have carried yourself with poise, grace, and kindness throughout it all. No one is more deserving than you 75. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you and no matter what it is you’lll be my rockstar. I love you with all my heart and can’t wait to watch you run out one last time for the Tide!”

ESPN reports that, although the couple hasn't chosen a date yet, they're leaning toward an April 2019 wedding. They also haven't set a location for the wedding.

Congratulations to the couple! In other news, another Alabama quarterback is going viral after he shared an impactful testimony about God.
