It's an equally heartbreaking and heartwarming moment that's captured the attention of the internet. One bittersweet photo posted on Facebook shows a member of the armed forces experiencing one of the most important moments of his life via FaceTime.
According to an ABC affiliate, over the weekend, Tracy Dover saw an Army soldier in his camouflage uniform intently watching his phone. She discovered that he was watching the birth of his daughter.
She posted a photo the solider on her Facebook. In the caption, she reminded people of the sacrifices that the men and women in the armed forces make every day.
"This Army soldier was on my delayed flight home yesterday to [Mississippi]. He had to watch the birth of his daughter on FaceTime. He was crying and our hearts were breaking. We all gave him space. When we heard the baby cry, we all rejoiced for him."
She continued, explaining why she chose to share that private moment on a social media platform: "I wanted to share this because I never want us to forget about our soldiers who serve us every day and the sacrifices they make."
The image has been shared more than 122,000 times.
"The brave hero has since been identified as Brooks Lindsey from Brandon, Mississippi. He is a member of the 2nd Battalion, 114th Field Artillery Regiment," reported the network.
His wife posted a video of the touching moment when he first hears his daughter cry. Brooks Lindsey and his wife Haley have since become a national sensation.
They named their little girl Millie.
God bless this family! In other news, three Americans were just released from North Korea. Such joyous news!
