A car crashed into pedestrians at Times Square in New York on Thursday morning.

Twenty three people were reported to be injured and one tourist teen from Michigan died.

The crash was determined to be intentional.

The driver has been identified as 26-year-old Richard Rojas and is in custody. Apparently, Rojas was attempting to commit suicide-by-cop. The man also has a criminal background: he was dishonorably discharged from the Navy in 2014 and has been arrested for threatening to kill cops in the past.

A video has been released that shows the car crashing into pedestrians, then the driver running out of the car and attacking civilians.

Watch the video below (Warning: Intense footage):

Note in the video the behavior of the driver as he leaps straight in the air and flails his arms as he tries to flee the crowd. Alcohol tests have come back negative, but the results of the drug test conducted on him are still pending.

Please continue to pray for the victims involved in the crash.
