A teen from Utah is facing social media backlash after what she chose to wear to her high school prom. Keziah Daum, 18, is being called a "closet racist" after she wore a Chinese cheongsam dress to her prom earlier this month.

While Daum calls her choice of dress "beautiful," others have accused her of cultural appropriation. The teenager posted her prom photos on Twitter with the caption, "PROM."

One of the photos she posted shows Daum and her friends posing with their hands folded together. Along with pointing out her dress as insensitive, Twitter users also considered their posing inappropriate. Followers didn't hold back their disapproval, and her post has now been retweeted almost 4,400 times.

Daum has responded to the controversy by saying she didn't mean any disrespect by wearing the traditional dress. According to her Twitter account, she found the dress at a local thrift store.
