Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth II’s husband, had to undergo hip surgery back in April following an ongoing issue with his hip. The news came amidst Philip’s drastic decline in health following his official retirement in 2017.

Prior to his scheduled surgery, Philip, 96, missed an overwhelming number of public appearances. After the surgery, the prince still stayed under wraps to recover, but he was reportedly doing well and in “good spirits.”

However, on Friday, May 11th, Philip was spotted out and about for the first time since his surgery.

The 96-year-old royal was driving himself to the 2018 Royal Windsor Horse Show at Home Park, reported PEOPLE. Philip arrived at the annual event in a black Land Rover and appeared to be enjoying his time out, according to bystanders.

“He and the Queen spoke for about five minutes. She leaned into the window to talk,” one bystander said.

PEOPLE also noted that Kensington Palace has not yet confirmed if he will be attending the upcoming royal wedding on Saturday, May 19th. The family has “very much hope” he will be able to attend, but a definite answer will be provided closer to the wedding day.

Please continue to keep Prince Philip in your prayers as he recovers. What are your thoughts on this recent update? Share in our Facebook comments!
