According to NBC News, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin's husband Todd was injured in a "very serious" snowmachine crash Sunday night.
The Trump campaign initially issued a statement saying Sarah was leaving the campaign trail to head back to Alaska, but this afternoon she showed up for her cancelled appearance at a Trump rally in Florida. She thanked supporters for their prayers for her husband and confirmed that he was still in intensive care after a "bad wreck." She did not provide more details.
Now according to Alaska Dispatch News, Todd's former snowmobile racing partner Scott Davis said Sarah's husband was recovering and would be OK.
Matanuska-Susitna Borough spokeswoman Patty Sullivan confirmed that a snowmobile rider had been transported with serious injuries but did not release his or her name due to patient-confidentiality laws.
On Facebook this afternoon, Palin wrote, "Todd is our rock... toughest guy I know. Thank you for your prayers as he recovers following a snowmachine accident last night. You know, your prayers have meant so much to our family over the years and I've not thanked you enough for providing us that shield of faith. God bless you, too!"
