U.S. Celebrates As North Korea Does Something Unexpected While Dennis Rodman Visits The Country

For years now, North Korea has held American citizens against their will as prisoners of the state. They claim that the American prisoners violated North Korean laws or were working for the U.S. government.

However, America has strongly condemned their actions and said that imprisoning American citizens is simply a tactic North Korea is using to gain political pawns. The most notable prisoner to be detained is Otto Warmbier.

As many people remember, Warmbier was detained by North Korea after they claimed he was stealing a government propaganda sign. He was harshly sentenced to 15 years in a labor camp for his actions.

However, on the same day that Dennis Rodman is arriving in the country for a political visit, the North Korean government has announced they are freeing young Otto.

"At the direction of the President, the Department of State has secured the release of Otto Warmbier from North Korea," Rex Tillerson said. "Mr. Warmbier is en route to the United States, where he will be reunited with his family. The Department of State continues to have discussions with the DPRK regarding three other U.S. citizens reported detained. Out of respect for the privacy of Mr. Warmbier and his family, we have no further comment on Mr. Warmbier."

While the United States is saying that Dennis Rodman has nothing to do with the release, the timing of Rodman’s visit and the release do raise some questions. Rodman has previously had a long-standing relationship with the North Korean government.

What do you think? Was it simply a coincidence? We thank you for you prayers and ask that you continue to pray for the healthy recovery of Otto Warmer.
