Actor Tyler Perry made a heartbreaking announcement Sunday, January 14th. On social media, Perry announced the death of one of his family members.
“I just said goodbye to one of my favorite aunts,” Perry stated. “This woman was the kindest and most loving person you’ll ever meet. She always made me feel special.”
It is unclear how his aunt, Sadie Genola Gordon Muse, passed away or how old she was at the time of her death.
“I’ll miss you Aunt Sadie,” he continued. “Thank you for your light and helping me find my way!”

Fans expressed their prayers, love, and condolences to Perry and his family. One user wrote Perry a comforting reminder, "To be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord."
Perry is an actor, comedian, and producer well-known for his role in the “Madea” movies including “Diary of a Mad Black Woman” and “Madea’s Family Reunion.” In the movies, Perry plays several different characters. Aside from film entertainment, Perry is a singer and songwriter who specializes in Gospel music.
Perry also made headlines last year following the destruction of Hurricane Harvey. He was one of several Hollywood stars who donated $1 million to relief efforts. Perry’s donation was unique because part of it was designated to Joel Osteen’s church.
