June 14 is flag day, a time to honor the symbol that our nation has given for all the Americans who have fought and died – and who are living -- to uphold the ideals and liberties every one of us enjoy.
Unfortunately, some persons feel like the flag is something to tear down. Even destroy. There is a strain of persons who feel increasingly anti-American, who feel that the flag is a symbol of prejudice and inequality.
Vandals of this nature take no second thought in destroying the flag for such reasons. But there are many of us who feel that the flag is worth the cost, a symbol to give tribute and honor to.
In this video, we see both sides of that coin. We see two young persons walking down the street, and as they approach the flag that is hanging from a pole, they hardly think about it, and rip it off its pole, and then tread over it.
But that’s not the end of the story. Not long after, another pair come walking up, both young. This time, they treat the flag much differently. See the video for yourself:
According to Conservative Tribune, the incident occurred Sunday in Mobile, Alabama. Security cameras operated by a woman named Margaret Dopson were able to record it.
“We’ve had our flag ripped down four times in three years. It’s one of the reasons for the cameras,” Dopson said.
“It’s gut-wrenching to me to see it on video. It’s a quick flash of what’s wrong with society — anger, hatred and disrespect,” she continued.
The couple who folded the flag, when they had finished, gently placed it on the steps of the house to which the flag belonged. What do you think of this? Share your thoughts on our Facebook page. Be sure to read about the new book by Willie Robertson that is causing a stir.
