TV Actor Dies Young After Complications From Heart Failure

Nelsan Ellis, television actor, passed away on Saturday, July 8th of 2017. He was only 39 years old.

Ellis was most well known for his role as Lafayette Reynolds on HBO’s “True Blood” series. He most recently appeared on the CBS series “Elementary” and will be seen in the upcoming movie “True to the Game.”

Originally, details regarding his cause of death only mentioned 'heart complications', but new information was released on Monday July 10th. See the original statement below. 

“Nelsan has passed away after complications with heart failure,” the actor’s manager Emily Gerson Saines confirmed to THR. “He was a great talent, and his words and presence will be forever missed.”

Ellis's family released a detailed statement to The Hollywood Reporter, "Nelsan’s father has bravely agreed for me to share the circumstances of Nelsan’s heart failure....STORY CONTINUES ON NEXT PAGE.
