On Saturday, February 9th, Democratic Senator of Massachusetts Elizabeth Warren officially launched her 2020 presidential campaign. Her campaign launch, which comes shortly after she apologized for describing her heritage as “American Indian,” was highly critical of President Donald Trump’s administration.
The public anticipated Trump’s response to Warren’s campaign launch, especially since the two criticize one another often over their differences in politics. Shortly after Warren’s announcement, Trump issued a hilarious response via Twitter.
“Today Elizabeth Warren, sometimes referred to by me as Pocahontas, joined the race for President,” Trump said in a Tweet. “Will she run as our first Native American presidential candidate, or has she decided that after 32 years, this is not playing so well anymore? See you on the campaign TRAIL, Liz!”
Conservatives were cracking up in response to Trump’s post. Several well-known conservative names, including Donald Trump Jr., laughed in agreement with POTUS. While liberals automatically resulted to deeming Trump’s Tweet as “racist,” others came to his defense to explain that his Tweet was actually mocking Warren’s lies.
Earlier in the day, Trump’s campaign manager released a scathing response to Warren’s presidential campaign launch on behalf of the entire administration. Read the full statement below:
