Trump’s “Impenetrable” Border Wall Has Been Broken Through Over 3,000 Times

The wall erected at the U.S.’s southern border under the direction of former President Donald Trump has been broken through thousands of times since it was put up, according to documents obtained by The Washington Post.

According to unpublished U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, supposed “smuggling gangs” from Mexico, as the PostI wrote, I sawed through the wall 3272 times between 2019-2021.

This means that Trump’s previous reference to the wall as “the wall” is now obsolete. a “Rolls-Royce” that is “virtually impenetrable,” has been breached at a rate of about three times a day at a minimum for the past three years.

It is clear that the wall can be cut through easily, which indicates its ineffectiveness in achieving its racist and xenophobic goal to keep Mexicans and asylum seekers out the United States.

The government has been hit hard by the wall $15 billionAs of October 2020, these holes can be easily drilled using simple power tools found in hardware stores such as angle grinders and demolition saws. These breaches have been repaired by the government for $2.6 million in the last three years.

Contractors are supposed to fill the bottom parts of the wall’s bollards with concrete or steel rebar in order to prevent further breaches, but the PostIt was found that many bollards were hollow. After reporters discovered that the wall was being smashed through, Trump seemed to have abandoned his claim that the wall was impenetrable.

Some people will cover the breach with putty if they break through the wall in certain places. If border agents don’t notice the breach, people can return to the same place over and over in order to cross through the wall. In other places, bollards have been sawed and swung back into their original position, obscuring the fact that they’re broken.

The fact that breaches can be hidden suggests that there may be more than the thousands of breaches CBP has documented.

About 458 miles of the wall has been built under Trump’s direction; he ultimately planned to continue constructing the wall for another 250 miles. President Joe Biden stopped the construction of the wall and his administration called for Congress to end all border funding. Some observers who have been to the southern border report that CBP has not yet been able to stop construction. is still constructing the wall there. The agency claims that the construction was done to flood control and protect border agents.

There are other ways to circumvent the wall. HuffPost pointed out. In the past, it was shown that people are able to recognize and communicate with one another. are using $5 laddersTo climb over the wall. “It’s made of cheap, rough wood, quickly nailed together because it is only going to be used once,” local artist and activist Scott Nicol told Texas Monthly last April. “Unlike the wall, these ladders are functional.”

Another example in 2020 showed a wall constructed with poor quality. A segment of the California sideAfter the area was hit with winds up to 37 mph, some of the walls fell on trees on the Mexican side.
