Trump Urges Strong Warning to Families as Hurricane Irma Targets U.S.

Only weeks after Category 4 Hurricane Harvey took the lives of more than 60 people and left billions of dollars in damage on U.S. grounds, Category 5 Hurricane Irma was brewing in the Atlantic. Irma made its first landfall on Wednesday, striking the Caribbean and later made its way to Puerto Rico.

Irma has already created a great tragedy. Many properties in the path of the intense hurricane have been destroyed, massive power outages have resulted from the effects of the storm, and at least 13 people have been confirmed dead as of late Thursday, September 7th.

The death toll is expected to drastically increase in upcoming days as Irma travels towards the east coast of the United States. While still handling the devastating aftermath of destructive Hurricane Harvey, the U.S. is preparing for another tragic situation with Hurricane Irma, which is expected to crash Florida on Sunday.

Although unclear where exactly in the Sunshine State the hurricane will hit, authorities have issued even more serious warnings in the past 24 hours to Florida citizens, encouraging them to leave. President Donald Trump also urged a very strong warning warning to families on Thursday after hundreds of thousands of people fell into evacuation zones, and supporting the words of Florida Governor Rick Scott.

Trump stated, “I encourage EVERYONE in the path of Irma to heed the advice and orders of local and state officials. As Governor Rick Scott said, ‘We can rebuild our homes, we can get our possessions again, we can't rebuild our families’."

Please continue to pray for those in the path of Hurricane Irma. In other breaking news, 143 million social security numbers were discovered stolen; read the details to check and see if you’ve been effected. Thank you!
