Many have looked at Donald Trump and wondered about the sincerity of his faith. Politicians, in general, usually have to go through such criticism, because people are wary of pandering. Trump, in particular, has a lifestyle and statement record that is all over the board, so many want to know: What does Donald Trump really believe about God and Jesus?
In a latest interview with political columnist Cal Thomas, Trump gives some personal insight into his beliefs, as The Christian Post reports. Following up on comments he had made about forgiveness (that some felt uneasy about), Trump clarified, "I will be asking for forgiveness, but hopefully I won't have to be asking for much forgiveness. As you know, I am Presbyterian and Protestant. I've had great relationships and developed even greater relationships with ministers."
But what about his relationship with Jesus? Thomas asked Trump about that very thing, and he replied, "Jesus to me is somebody I can think about for security and confidence." He contined: "Somebody I can revere in terms of bravery and in terms of courage and, because I consider the Christian religion so important, somebody I can totally rely on in my own mind."
