Earlier this week, all charges were dropped again Jussie Smollett. Smollett, an actor from the show “Empire,” was charged with 16 felonies for orchestrating a hate crime.
However, all charges were abruptly dropped on Tuesday. Now, President Trump has responded. He sent out a tweet, saying that the FBI and Justice Department will be reviewing the case after the unprecedented decision, reported Fox.
The POTUS wrote, “FBI & DOJ to review the outrageous Jussie Smollett case in Chicago. It is an embarrassment to our Nation!”
The president comments come two days after Chicago and the U.S. reacted with outrage over the Smollett Decision. There was no clear explanation as to why the charges were dropped, which has lead to widespread speculation over what happened behind the scenes that led to the deal with Cook County prosecutors.
Even Mayor Rahm Emanuel was furious over the dismissal. Likewise, Chicago police were extremely angry over the decision and released the full 61-page investigative report in the alleged hate crime hoax.
After the 16-count indictment against the actor was dismissed, the County prosecutors announced they had cut a deal with the TV star to perform two days of community service and forfeit his $10,000 bond to the city
