Trump's Newest Cabinet Pick Might Make You Do A DOUBLE-TAKE

President-Elect Donald Trump named three new nominees for his cabinet today, according to his Facebook page.

He selected Steven Mnuchin as Treasury secretary, Wilbur Ross as Commerce secretary, and Todd Ricketts as Commerce deputy secretary, but it's his choice of Mnuchin that's raising eyebrows.

Mnuchin has deep roots in Hollywood as a movie financier and, as Trump said, "is a world-class financier, banker and businessman, and has played a key role in developing our plan to build a dynamic, booming economy that will create millions of jobs."

He also worked for Goldman Sachs for 17 years, eventually becoming the chief information officer.

That's the job description that drew criticism from Stephen Bannon — the Breitbart news executive Trump recently picked as his chief strategist — who during Trump's campaign criticized Trump for partnering with Mnuchin at the time, according to Breitbart.

Bannon asked Trump during an interview whether he was "selling out to Wall Street."

Trump replied at the time, defending his decision to make Mnuchin a part of his campaign by saying, “Well, I needed somebody smart, and he’s very smart, as you know. He’s done some amazing deals. I actually did a deal with him in Hawaii; I built a hotel with him in Hawaii. He’s great. He’s a good guy. He’s a solid guy, as you know. And you know, the family is a wonderful family.”

As for Trump's two other picks today, the president-elect said, "Ross is a champion of American manufacturing and knows how to help companies succeed. Most importantly, he is one of the greatest negotiators I have ever met, and that comes from me, the author of The Art of the Deal. Together, we will take on the special interests and stand up for American jobs."

Ross, who has headed Rothschild Inc., has a long history of building coal, steel, textile, telecommunication, and investment businesses.

Of Ricketts, Trump said he is "an immensely successful businessman with unparalleled knowledge of the finance industry. As Deputy Commerce Secretary he will help us cut waste and streamline government so that it works for the people of America."

Trump added, "The incredible job he and the Ricketts family did in the purchase and turnaround of the Chicago Cubs — one perfect step after another, leading to the World Championship, is what I want representing our people.
