President Trump sent shockwaves through the NFL on Friday when he made an offer to the NFL players who openly kneeled in protest during the national anthem.
Before leaving for the G-7 summit, Trump turned to the news cameras and issued a challenge to the players to put their money where their mouth is and do something to make a real change instead of just talking about it.
“I am going to ask all of those people to recommend to me, because that’s what they’re protesting, people that they think were unfairly treated by the justice system,” Trump said.
“I’m going to ask them to recommend to me people that were unfairly treated. Friends of theirs or people they know about and I’m going to take a look at those applications,” Trump continued. “If I find, if my committee finds they’re unfairly treated, we will pardon them or at least let them out.”
It is up to the NFL players to know take ownership of the cause they have been championing. Do you agree?
