This week marked the 17th-anniversary fo the attacks of September 11th, 2001. The nation once again came together to pay respects to all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice that day and who were senselessly murdered.
Many people took to social media to share their memories of that fateful day and to offer tributes to all the victims. President Trump joined in by offering his thoughts and words and posted a photo on his Twitter account.
"Departing Washington, D.C. to attend a Flight 93 September 11th Memorial Service in Shanksville, Pennsylvania with Melania. #NeverForget," wrote President Trump.
However, some people noticed something strange about the image. It caused a firestorm online among critics.
"But Twitter users pointed out that the photo was taken last year since it includes staff members who are no longer working at the White House, among them Omarosa Manigault Newman and Hope Hicks," reported the Daily Mail.
More evidence also emerged online to support the claims. Photos from the President's trip to Pennsylvania yesterday were compared with his photo in the image he posted in front of the White House.
"Trump is seen in the photo wearing a blue striped tie. The photo Trump tweeted shows him wearing a red tie," according to reports.
