After much anticipation this week, Donald Trump's transition team has confirmed that the president-elect has made his picks for three of his top cabinet positions.

According to CNBC, here they are:

ATTORNEY GENERAL: Although there was much speculation about Rep. Trey Gowdy or former New York City Major Rudy Giuliani being tapped by Trump for attorney general, Trump has selected his close ally Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions. Sessions has experience as a Alabama attorney general and district attorney, was nominated for judgeship by President Ronald Reagan, and was in serious consideration for Trump's running mate.

CIA DIRECTOR: Trump picked Kansas Rep. Mike Pompeo to lead the CIA. Pompeo is supported strongly by the Tea Party and is a Harvard Law graduate who served in the Army and worked as an attorney.

NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR: Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn has been selected as special assistant to Trump in matters of national security. Flynn is an Army veteran with experience serving as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency as well as numerous other military intelligence positions. He was in consideration for Trump's running mate and is a Trump-supporting registered Democrat.
