Following a celebrity trend of using nationally televised awards stages to push liberal political messages, actress Meryl Streep used her awards speech to bash Trump and discuss her sadness in him winning the presidential election.
Fighting back tears, Streep went off on Trump Sunday at the Golden Globes for allegedly attacking a disabled reporter.
She then labeled Trump a bully who incites violence and called on the mainstream media to be extra critical of the future president — as if they’re aren’t already.
Trump replied on Twitter Monday, writing, “Meryl Streep, one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood, doesn't know me but attacked last night at the Golden Globes. She is a Hillary flunky who lost big.”
He continued, “For the 100th time, I never ‘mocked’ a disabled reporter (would never do that) but simply showed him ‘groveling’ when he totally changed a 16 year old story that he had written in order to make me look bad.”
“Just more very dishonest media!” he added.
Monday morning, Trump top aide Kellyanne Conway went on Fox News to weigh in as well and pose a challenge to the actress:
What do you think of this?
