We have been seeing a more and more deeply committed Christian in President Trump. At the outset of his presidency, many wondered if his spoken commitments to faith and to Christians would be realized. Critics said he was just pandering.

But as we see his record to stand for pro-life values and his recent unabashed criticism of New York and Virginia's full-term abortion stances in his State of the Union address, Christians can appreciate that Trump is putting his money where his mouth is.

At the National Prayer Breakfast today, President Trump went even further in his remarks about the God-given rights to life of the unborn. “All children, born and unborn, are made in the holy image of God,” Trump said as the audience of faith leaders cheered. He promised to “build a culture that cherishes the dignity and sanctity of innocent human life.”

“Every life is sacred and every soul is a precious gift from Heaven. As the Lord says in Jeremiah, ‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart,’” Trump said, quoting the Bible.

Trump drew a sharp contrast to Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, who recently defended a bill that would let unwanted infants die after delivery, by celebrating Grayson Watkinson, a premie who was born during a snowstorm in Virginia at 24 weeks, weighing just 1 pound, 11 ounces. The miracle baby just celebrated his first birthday and is thriving.

“As his mom Nikki has said, he was put on this earth to do big things. He may be here someday,” Trump said, pointing to the podium. “Nikki, he already has and he will do more and more as he grows older.”

Trump began his speech with this powerful promise to faith leaders: “I will never let you down … Never.” He heartily commended Vice President Mike Pence's wife, Karen. She was recently lambasted in the media for returning to work at a Christian school that holds biblical values about sexuality. Lady Gaga called out Pence for being the worst kind of Christian.

But Trump stood to defend Mrs. Pence: "She is a Marine Corps mom, a tremendous woman, a proud supporter of military families and she just recently went back to teaching art classes at a Christian school. Thank you, Karen. Terrific woman."

We love what we have been hearing from President Trump about the value of every baby and the sheer evil of these recent late-term abortion laws. May God bless him and continue to show Himself to our president. What do you think of Trump's stand for the unborn? Share your thoughts in the comments! Thank you!
