In the middle of April, fans and bandmates were shocked to hear that beloved singer Timmy Matley died suddenly. "The Overtones" singer passed away at the young age of 36.

At the time of his death, little information was revealed concerning the cause of death. Though other rumors circulated around it, many thought that his death had to do with his battle with cancer. The singer had been diagnosed with stage three malignant melanoma after a lump was found in his underarm.

At the time the band wrote, "It is with great sadness that we have to announce that our dear friend and brother Timmy has passed away. We know this news will be as heartbreaking for you all as it is for us. We appreciate your love and support at this difficult time. Mike, Darren, Mark & Lachie x."

Now, several months after his death, the tragic cause of death for Timmy Matley has been revealed. Rather than dying as a result of complications from his skin cancer, the singer reportedly died in a drug-related accident.

[Editor's note: below is the gruesome information regarding Matley's cause of death.]

According to the Mirror, Matley died after plunging off of a 13th-floor balcony. Matley had been taking crystal meth prior to the fall.

An inquest was held at the end of September in order to reveal the cause of death. Sadly, they found that it was a drug-related accident.

Following the inquest, "The Overtones" band said, "We will not be making any comment other than to say that Timmy, our funny, talented, beautiful friend was dearly loved and he is deeply missed."

Please be praying for Matley's family, friends, and bandmates during this horrible time. While they had already been grieving Matley's death, they now have to grieve this new information.
