A tragic story has just emerged out of British Columbia, Canada. Three social media stars were killed after falling over a waterfall.
According to Yahoo, Ryker Gamble, Alexey Lyakh, and Megan Scraper, three YouTube travel bloggers, were at Shannon Falls when the accident took place. The falls are located in Squamish, B.C. and the waterfall drops 98 feet into the pool below.
The trio was a part of High On Life, a travel video blog. The group has over a million followers on Instagram as well as over 500,000 YouTube subscribers. The group created a video to celebrate the three group members that passed away.
The group called the trio “three of the warmest, kindest, and most driven and outgoing people you could ever meet.”
They continued, “There are truly no words that can be said to ease the pain and the devastation we are all going through right now.”
According to Canada’s Federal Police, the three were all in their late 20s or early 30s. They were hiking the falls on Tuesday when they reached the top and “walked along the ledge shortly thereafter.” They said that Megan Scraper slipped and fell, and the other two got “swept away” while trying to save her. Sadly, all three lost their lives.
It took over two days to locate the three YouTubers due to the terrain.
Cpl Banks said, “I can’t say enough about the incredible skilled work done by the RCMP teams along with Squamish Search and Rescue.”
Please be praying for the families of these three social media stars. This accident was absolutely tragic, and we can be praying for comfort for the other group members and their families.
