Tragic: Official Cause of Death, Other Sad Details Emerge About Anthony Bourdain

On Friday, June 8,  the world was shocked to learn that one of the most famous chefs in the world,  Anthony Bourdain, had passed away. The 61-year-old was beloved and known by many for his amazing cooking and travel adventure pursuits.

Sadly,  Bourdain took his own life on Friday. He was working in France for the CNN segment “Parts Unknown” when authorities found him dead in his hotel room.

CNN confirmed the death and said, “It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague,  Anthony Bourdain. His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time.”

Shortly after his death, some sad details have emerged about the reported suicide. According to Fox News, Bourdain hanged himself in the bathroom of his hotel room using the belt of his bathrobe.

Prosecutor Christian de Rocquigny told AP that there is no foul play suspected at this time.

He said that “there is no element that makes us suspect that someone came into the room at any moment.”

At this point, toxicology reports are being conducted, as well as urine tests. The information will be able to reveal if Bourdain was on any specific medications at the time of his death.

Another detail that Christian de Rocquigny revealed is that it appeared that the suicide was not very planned out. Sadly, it appeared that Anthony Bourdain may have decided to take his own life in a rushed moment of sadness.

Bourdain died at Le Chambard, a luxury hotel in Kaysersberg. Olivier Nasti, the chef and owner of the hotel, spoke out on Saturday morning about the sad situation.

Nasti said, “It is with great respect for the leader, the author, the TV entertainer, the visionary Anthony Bourdain that I express all my condolences to his family and to the anonymous people around the world who he. Made dream so much. It is the whole family of French gastronomy that joins me, to renew our deep friendship to our bereaved American brothers.”
