A heartbreaking story has just been released out of Illinois. An accident involving a semi truck's wheel hub has claimed the life of an expectant mother of three.

38-year-old Melinda Cullen was killed on Tuesday while she was driving home from work on Interstate 80 near Joliet, Illinois. According to reports, the wheel hub came away from the semi truck and flew through the windshield of Cullen's vehicle.

Sadly, she was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital. Her death came only ten short days before her due date. Unfortunately, her unborn son, Jackson Cash Cullen, was also killed in the accident.

Cullen's in-laws shared with their local news station that they had last seen her on Sunday. They went on to say what a sweet girl she was and that they were "hoping that the baby would make it." Saying that "it would have meant a lot."

“We would give anything to not see this happened,” her father-in-law Charles Cullen said. “We just lost so much. You don’t expect something like this here, how it happened. She was just in that place at that time.”

Melinda's obituary details her life and the family she leaves behind. It also included that she was, "a woman of strong will." It went on to say that, "Melinda loved to cook and had a smile that could lighten up any room. She also made special time for her family or anyone in need. Family was of utmost importance to her, and she will most be remembered as a devoted mother that leaves behind a beautiful family that will miss her very much."

As well as her parents, brother, and other relatives, Melinda leaves behind her husband Dave and their three daughters age 8,5, and 15 months.

Our hearts and prayers go out to her family during this devastating time. Please keep them in your prayers as well. In other recent news, an iconic store has just announced the possible closure of all American locations.
