In the beginning of March, a tragic news report emerged out of New York. Tony Award-winning pregnant actress Ruthie Ann Miles was a part of a terrible pedestrian crash that took the life of her four-year-old daughter.

The 34-year-old “The King and I” star was with her daughter, Abigail, a friend, Lauren Lew, and Lauren’s son, 1-year-old Josh Lew. The group was reportedly walking from a church event.

As they were crossing a street, a woman in a white Volvo ran a red light and struck the group. Sadly, both of the kids were killed in the accident. 4-year-old Abigail was run over by the car while the 1-year-old was dragged in his stroller over 100 feet.

Witnesses described the horrific scene of the accident and said that Ruthie was doing everything in her power to get up and get to her daughter. Sadly, the crash killed both of the kids. Days after the accident, many people were waiting for an update on the actress, who was in the Intensive Care Unit, as well as her unborn baby.

The update came back that Ruthie was being moved out of the ICU and was on the road to recovery. Additionally, it appeared that her pregnancy was completely unharmed.

Now, two months after the accident, some more tragic news has emerged. Ruthie has lost her unborn baby at 39 weeks. The child was due later this month.

Their lawyer said, “At the time of the crash Ruthie was pregnant and severely injured. This past Friday Ruthie and Jonathan lost their baby, Sophia Rosemary Wong Blumenstein. The pain suffered by Ruthie and Jonathan is nearly impossible to fathom.”

Please be praying for Ruthie Ann Miles, her husband, and the rest of their family as they deal with this horrific loss. The loss of a child is already unthinkable, but now there are two immense losses to walk through. Please share your prayers here.
